Five years working with Ericsson

You never know where something might take you. Back in 2020, when Sally Croft and I had a conversation about working together again, we had no idea that chat would blossom into a five-year-long, super-storytelling project rolling out throughout Ericsson!

This summer marks the end of that project. It’s been wide-ranging with a single goal in mind: helping leaders in the organisation tell real stories in their work to make a positive change.

Here’s what we achieved together:

  • a global training programme equipping senior leaders with the skills to spark behaviour change through storytelling

  • one-to-one coaching for marketing and communications managers to sharpen their storytelling skills

  • supporting C-suite executives helping them find—and use—their authentic voice to engage and inspire

So huge thanks to Sally—it’s been great working together, making a real difference inside Ericsson. We’ve witnessed first hand how to build relationships and kick-start change through the power of sharing human stories. And seen the engagement that happens when leaders are comfortable being vulnerable with the stories they share.

Also… thank you Lars Magnus Ericsson. If you hadn’t started that little engineering workshop in Sweden back in 1876 then this story wouldn’t exist.

Here’s me and Sally on one of our walk and talk sessions - we always found a wander in the Surrey countryside was the perfect path to unearthing stories together.
