My ‘Power of Storytelling’ Lunch & Learn
I’ve spent my career helping people and organisations tell better stories - from teaching storytelling at the BBC to writing business stories for the Financial Times and running programmes for leaders in global companies.
That experience has shaped my sixty‑minute session, The Power of Storytelling: a fast, energising Lunch & Learn designed to get any team thinking about why stories are our most important vehicle for communication. It’s my ‘greatest hits’ of what really works: why stories cut through the noise, how to find them, and how to share them to engage your audience.
It’s ideal for leadership teams, comms functions, agencies and fast‑growing companies. This year alone, I’ve delivered it for groups ranging from the John Lewis Partnership comms team to an all‑hands at Fox Agency across the US and UK.
Here’s what Chris Wynn, Director of Communications at the John Lewis Partnership said about the session:
“We needed a refresher about the importance of storytelling and how it can elevate our communications: Ian's presentation did exactly that. In one hour, he gave my team of eighty a session that was inspirational and energising, as well as providing ideas for us to put into action. It was a brilliant session that made an impact: I’ve already seen a change in approach from the team.”
